Access Update – Lift Availability
Unfortunately, The Beatles Story’s entrance lift is currently out of order and as a result, our exhibition can only be accessed via 19 shallow steps. We understand how frustrating and disappointing this can be, and we truly share those feelings. Accessibility is extremely important to us at The Beatles Story, and we want everyone to feel welcome and included.
Unfortunately, because our lift is exposed to the elements, it can be very sensitive to changes in weather. This means it is sometimes prone to faults after periods of poor weather, despite our best efforts to maintain it. We’ve been working closely with contractors and have also taken guidance from accessibility and heritage experts to ensure we are doing everything we can, in the right way.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to share that we have now received planning permission to fully replace the lift. As tenants of the Royal Albert Dock and a listed building, this process has involved careful planning and collaboration with heritage and accessibility partners to ensure everything is done properly, safely, and smoothly. At this stage, we’re unable to provide a confirmed timeframe in 2026 for when this replacement will take place, but please rest assured it is a top priority for us. Please note that access to the Fab4 Store at the Royal Albert Dock, and the Fab4 Café and Store at the Pier Head, remain wheelchair accessible.
We know how important access is, for both our guests and our team, and we’re incredibly sorry for any inconvenience this causes. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we work hard to find a long-term solution.
If you would like more information or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to speak to a Duty Manager on site or contact our team directly at guestexperienceteam@beatlesstory.com.
